Decision making procedure of choosing
a reasonable choice from the offered options, a person should
be able to predict the
result that he will get from his choice. It is also making the right choice for
the situation you might face.
When you make a decision without planning the action will end but not the way you might want. When you plan before making a decision this will help you to get a better outcome or result and it will be easier and more helpful.
The benefits of decision making are having personal goals; you will be able to overcome an obstacle by thinking and taking the right action towards it.
The skills that are found in decision making are:
Reality testing helped me to think for the future even if it was a bad consequence because I know that I’m a strong person and I will overcome any bad situation I might face in the future.
For example me and two of my friends wanted to buy a cup of coffee so my friend told me to stay and she will get me the cup of coffee, I thought that they didn’t want me to go because they had something to say and didn’t want me to hear that, but what my friend meant was that she didn’t want me to get tired and she wanted to do me a favor.
Problem solving is when an individual is able to find solutions to the problems where feelings are interfered, and be able to understand how the feelings influence decision making.
I’ve learned that there are four steps in solving a problem, first I should know what the problem is, then try to recognize some possible solutions, and then I should assess and select replacements, and at the end I should apply the solutions.
Impulse control is the ability to which a person can control, or delay a desire. It involves avoiding thoughtless behaviors and decision making.
The impulse control made me think that I should sometimes control my desire and not to put my father under pressure. Once my father took me and my sister to buy us a gift for our good grades, my sister bought a watch but I told my father to buy me the gift next time because I didn’t want to put him under pressure.
